Local-Yokels announce a new free business directory. Any local business located within the County of Parkland #31, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain are welcome to add their listings for free.

Other local directories by the Town of Stony Plain, the City of Spruce Grove and by both Chambers of Commerce do exist and do a fine job but they are lacking in a couple of ways.

First they are fragmented. Local web users would have to look in 4 different directories to find all the restaurants in our combined communities. And we really are one community so just one place to look would make things easier.

Second many of the listings in the two chamber directories are from companies that are really located outside the boundaries of the County of Parkland, they just had to pay their membership fees to be included. The local-yokel directory will ensure that only local businesses are included.

In the directories I have had experience with businesses could only appear in one category. With this new directory businesses can choose up to three.

So I called the City of Spruce Grove public works and received a recorded message but it did give me a number I could call in case of emergency, so I called that.
