As a valued customer I received notice stating that on October 19th 2009 Canada Post is moving the main Post Office for Spruce Grove to:
Spruce Grove Main Post Office
360 Saskatchewan Ave.
Must be a new street? So I dig out my maps, go to the Spruce Grove website, search Google Maps and Saskatchewan Ave. does not exit.
Great! I should have known that it was just a matter of time. Canada Post is moving the main post office to an address that does not exist! Canada Post has finally devised an ingenious plan to explain all the missing mail! Well done!
Ok, Ok just kidding, honest. But when I could not find even the street on any map I just could not resist.
No one, including ubiquitous Google has had time to map out the new business district at the south end of Spruce Grove. The “lack of direction” really speaks to the rapid growth of Spruce Grove and the map makers just can’t keep up.
To find the post office just take Golden Spike road south from Highway 16 then keep going past Diamond Ave. and soon you will see some new buildings off to the east and if you keep your eyes peeled you will find Saskatchewan Ave. Just watch out for the Photo Radar as Golden Spike’s posted speed is 50k.
