It’s Time for Transition Towns Spruce Grove

I have been doing a lot of reading, video watching and talking with anyone who will listen about Climate Change, Economics, Peak Oil and the Environment. It seems that at some point in the future, if we continue with the status quo, we as a species will be in big trouble. There is little debate if this will happen, only when.

It is actually very depressing (although recommended) to watch documentaries like Peak Oil, Addicted to Plastic, Food, inc., End of Suburbia and Blue Gold among others, depressing until discovering the Transition Towns movement. A world wide movement started in the UK. The movement is not only upbeat but willing to share a plan that can help the rest of us follow suit.

This movement puts a positive twist on our problems and puts their solution squarely in the hands both you and I meaning us. Rob Hopkins, the founder of the Transition movement, is correct in his statement:

  • if we wait for the governments, it'll be too little, too late
  • if we act as individuals, it'll be too little
  • but if we act as communities, it might just be enough, just in time.

Please review the videos and link below and if you agree that it is time for Transition Towns Spruce Grove then please get in touch with me if you would like to be involved. I would like to initiate a steering committee to explore getting “Transition Spruce Grove” started.

My phone is 780-962-6705 if we don’t pick up please leave a message. You can also send me an email at info@local-yokels.com. You can also leave a comment in our forum regarding Transition Towns Spruce Grove via this link.
